Cubs from all over Slieve Bloom met in Clara in April to try their hands at backwoods cooking, pioneering, swimming, campfire singing and camping in some interesting weather. We hope everyone had a good time, we know our cubs did. 🙂
We’ve had very successful Beaver sleepovers, the Cubs and Scouts have been away to the Log Cabin, Kinnity and County Camp is in Clara this weekend, it’s all go in 2nd Offaly in what’s shaping up to be a busy camping season. Hope everyone has fun!
On Friday November 30th our new Beavers, Cubs and Scouts made their promises and were all invested as full members of 2nd Offaly. It was a lovely evening, attended by friends and family, with the Investiture ceremony and prize giving, finishing up, as all good things should, with tea and cakes for all involved. A write up will appear shortly, for now we just want to say thanks to our photographer for tonight, Laura Doyle from scouts, for her photographs 🙂
Beavers, Cubs and Scouts today took part in the Annual Sponsored walk from the Mass Rock, over the old board walk through Clara Bog. This always a popular walk with everyone, and we were delighted to see so many family and friends coming along on the day. Along the way there were plenty of wild flowers to identify and trail signs to observe. 2nd Offaly Scouts and Scourers would like to thank everyone who sponsored us and everyone who came along on the day.
Leaders from 2nd Offaly will be travelling to Dublin for National Council.
