We wanted to say thanks to all the Beavers (and Cubs, Scouts and Ventures, of course) who made it to our annual St Patrick’s Day parade turnout.
It was a cold and wet one, but they did us proud, with smiles all round. Well done all!

Welcome to Beavers, we’re sure you’re going to have a great time! You will be in Beavers from when you join (usually when you are 6) until you are 8, when you will move to Cub scouts. Beavers will be divided into small groups, called lodges, where you get to learn about how a team works. Everyone has something they are good at, so when you get a group of boys and girls together who are good at lots of different things you will learn that working in a group is a great way to get things done.
Beavers learn lots of things about nature, about being away from home with friends, about building things from wood and rope. Beavers do some art, play lots of games, learn some cool things about science, learn how to safe around fire and outdoors, cook and find things on a map. You will also learn more about the community you live in and we visit some great places.
Some activities Beavers participated in last year include:

Beaver Scouts is the junior section of Scouting Ireland and is for boys and girls aged six to eight years of age. The program centres on games, arts and crafts and other activities designed to stimulate the imagination and encourage members to have lots of fun whilst making lots of new friends. We’re continuing in our focus to get kids outside and interested in the world around them, and we have had events like bug hunts, animal track casting, and field trips to the Lough Boora wetlands and the Zoo.
